Teen Charged For Strangling Woman At Mall Near Glen Rock/Fair Lawn Border: Police
A Bergen County teen was charged with strangulation for attacking a woman at a mall near the Glen Rock/Fair Lawn border, police said.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A 19-year-old Dumont man was charged with strangulation and other violent crimes last week after a woman said she was assaulted at a strip mall near the Glen Rock/Fair Lawn border, police said.
Thomas Godlewski, 19, of Dumont was charged with second-degree aggravated assault/strangulation, third-degree terroristic threats/threat to kill, fourth-degree criminal coercion, and the disorderly persons offense of recklessly causing bodily injury, said Glen Rock police.
Police said that last Thursday, before 4 a.m., an 18-year-old Fair Lawn woman reported to the Fair Lawn Police Department that she had
been assaulted on Aug. 16 by a 19-year-old Dumont man.

Fair Lawn officers determined that the assault had occurred just beyond the Fair Lawn border at a strip mall located on the 800 block of
Prospect Street in Glen Rock, police said.
Both police departments investigated with assistance from the Dumont Police Department, resulting in the arrest by Dumont police.

Godlewski was brought to the Bergen County Jail to await an appearance at Central Judicial Processing at the Superior Court in Hackensack, police said.
