BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A pilot who crashed a small Cessna plane in front of a home in Savanna, Ga.on Oct. 13 has been identified as a father of four from Glen Rock. Now friends are raising money for his family.

"Our dear friend Boris Yusupov leaves behind a family that includes four [children]," wrote a friend on Facebook. "I’m sharing news of a way we can pitch to assist during this tragic time."

Yusupov's Facebook page shows his love of travel, and support from the community in Rego Park, in Queens. He grew up in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

"Flying over Chile at FL450," he wrote in June, later posting photos from Iceland, Brazil, and France.

"Unfortunate and sudden accident took the life of our beloved Boris Yusupov," wrote the Bukharian Community on social media. "Our son, brother, uncle and a father of four children. Boris' funeral will take place tomorrow Wednesday October 16, 2024 at Mallenuim 63-36 99th St. Rego Park."

The GoFundMe for his immediate family says, "Boris was an exceptionally experienced pilot who had flown around the world, sharing his passion for aviation with everyone he met. He will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His sudden loss leaves an unimaginable void, and we are starting this GoFundMe to support his family in covering funeral expenses and helping them through this challenging time."

The smaller fundraiser for his parents says, "Boris Yusupov was a beloved father, brother, son, a respected pilot, and a strong part of our Bukharian community. He was also a proud father of three young daughters and one son, and a great husband to his now widowed wife. We are very heartbroken to announce his very tragic death and it will be felt by us all."
