Pink Hair for Students, Teachers to Benefit Cancer Research
Hair extensions provided by Ridgewood salon will raise money for breast cancer research.

Two Ridgewood schools will open their doors to students, teachers and parents to don a daring style as part of a breast cancer research benefit .
Ridgewood's Panico Salon will be on hand at Ridgewood High School Monday, Oct. 21 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. and Somerville Elementary School from 3 to 5 p.m. the following Tuesday with pink hair extensions, to be sold for $10 with all proceeds going toward the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
The "pink project" is in its second year, said Somerville teacher Lauren Majocha.
"Last year, the event was run at Somerville alone and we raised over $1,500," she said. "We are hoping to at least double that number this year."
The events are not limited to the respective school communities, and are open to all residents.
