Police: Neighbors Spot Would-Be Burglars Running from Ridgewood Home
Kingsbridge Lane resident was home at the time of the attempted break-in, police say.
Ridgewood Police are investigating a would-be burglary of a village home that they say was thwarted by an alarm system.
According to a post on the Ridgewood Police Facebook page, a Kingsbridge Lane resident was sleeping at about 9 a.m. on July 7 when she heard her burglary alarm go off. The woman found that someone had attempted to gain entry to the house by prying open a living room window, the post said.
Two witnesses who were next door said they saw “two dark skinned males flee from the rear of the home and enter a gold colored Mercedes Benz with blue and white NY Tags,” police said in the post.
