Ridgewood Blotter: Woman Breaks Into Library, Bank Fraud Reported
Also, a woman was arrested for making a fake 911 call about a medical emergency, and a person reported harassing calls and texts.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Police in Ridgewood this week responded to a number of calls. The highlights of those are below.
On April 8, the owner of a store in Wilsey Square called police to report a woman stole an item valued around $5. The theft was caught on surveillance video, which was given to police as evidence.
On April 8, a resident of Doris Place contacted Ridgewood Police to report a fraud. The resident told police someone had used his personal information to open four separate bank accounts without his approval. The victim notified the banks, and the accounts were closed.

On April 13, a construction contractor reported a Generac generator worth around $1,000 had been stolen the day prior. The theft was filmed on a surveillance camera, and video evidence was given to police.

On April 13, a resident of Woodside Avenue contacted Ridgewood police to report a theft in the past. Police said a man had taken some $30,000 worth of items from the victim's home to help sell the items. The victim said the man did not contact the victim or return the items. A criminal complaint was not signed.
On April 14, a Fareibault, Minnesota, resident called Ridgewood police to report he or she had been the victim of bank fraud in Ridgewood.
Police said Wells Fargo told the victim that an unknown person entered Wells Fargo's Ridgewood branch, provided fraudulent identification, and left with a $4,000 cashier's check and a replacement debit card.
The victim reported $2,000 had been withdrawn from an ATM using the debit card. Wells Fargo is investigating the incident.
On April 15, police responded to a report of a burglary on Meadowbrook Avenue. Police said the homeowner reported someone had broken into two cars in his driveway. Police canvassed the area but found no one matching the homeowner's description.
The homeowner told police nothing was stolen from the vehicles. The burglary was filmed on surveillance cameras, and footage will be provided to police at a later date.
On April 17, a resident of Avondale Road told police someone had used his personal information to open a line of credit through Dell Computers. The victim said he noticed the fraud when Dell Computers items were delivered to his home.
The victim contacted Dell, and the line of credit was canceled. The victim was told to return the items to Dell.
On April 18, a woman at Station Plaza was served with two special complaint summons for making false reports to lawn enforcement and making falls 911 calls.
Police said an officer was sent to Station Plaza after a 911 caller reported a medical emergency. When the officer arrived, the 56-year-old caller told the officer, "Have a good day."
The woman was arrested and released with pending court dates.
On April 23, a Beachwood Road resident called police to report he or she had received numerous harassing phone calls and texts. The victim filed a harassment report and said the calls and texts from unknown numbers caused alarm and annoyance.
On April 23, police responded to Ridgewood Public Library for a report of a burglary in progress. When police arrived, a door was unlocked and a 56-year-old woman was found inside. The Ridgewood woman was arrested and issued special complaints for criminal trespass and an open container. She was arrested and released pending court dates.
