Ridgewood Church Holding Animal Blessing Saturday

Could your pet use some help from a higher power?

If so, Christ Episcopal Church will be holding a “Blessing of the Animals” in celebration of the Feast of St. Francis Saturday, Sept. 28.

The event will feature a short service at the church’s outdoor alter, followed by blessings of animals of all sizes, from goldfish to hamsters to cats and dogs – and even stuffed animals.

Oakland-based Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge will also be on hand with orphaned cats and dogs eligible for adoption.

The ceremony kicks off at 10 a.m. Saturday. In the event of rain, the event will be held inside the church.
