Ridgewood, Glen Rock PD Warns Residents of Ice, 'Dangerous Conditions'

Glen Rock PD: "Stay in [until] temp[eratures] rise. All roadways and sidewalks are extremely icy due to freezing rain and cold surfaces."

The Glen Rock Police Department is urging residents to ”use extreme caution if traveling and avoid [traveling] if at all possible” as “heavy icing conditions” are on the road.

The ”moderate severity” alert comes as Bergen County is under a Freezing Rain Advisory until 11 a.m.

“Stay in [until] temp[eratures] rise,” states the alert. “All roadways and sidewalks are extremely icy due to freezing rain and cold surfaces.”

Glen Rock PD recommends using caution if walking or driving until temperatures rise and roads can be salted.

The Ridgewood Police Department also warns of “dangerous conditions,” recommending residents “please stay off the roadways.”

“The roads are iced over,” states the message from Ridgewood PD. “Vehicles are stuck in various locations.”

The Ridgewood DPW has been called out but has not yet begun to spread salt, according to the Ridgewood Police Department.
