Ridgewood Hospital Named Among America's 100 Best Hospitals: Report

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Ridgewood's Valley Hospital was named one of America's 100 best hospitals for 2023, according to an analysis by Healthgrades, a leading online resource for information about doctors and hospitals.

This achievement puts the 451-bed, not-for-profit hospital in the top 2% of hospitals nationwide for overall clinical performance. Valley is one of three state hospitals, along with Morristown Medical Center and Overlook Medical Center (Summit), to earn the distinction, and is the only Bergen County hospital to receive it.

“This prestigious award for clinical outcomes demonstrates the importance we place on delivering the highest-quality care and service to our patients and their families," President and CEO of regional healthcare system Valley Health System Audrey Meyers said.

Healthgrades' rankings, Valley said, are based on evaluation of patient mortality and complication rates for treatment of 31 of the most common conditions and procedures at nearly 4,500 hospitals across the country. The site's analysis revealed that patients treated at one of these top hospitals have, on average, a 25.5% lower risk of dying than if treated at a hospital that was not designated.
