RIDGEWOOD, NJ — A Ridgewood hospital saw a baby boom this year, delivering 4,000 newborns — a new record for the health center.

On Wednesday, a proud family and Valley Hospital's Center for Childbirth welcomed Dafnne, the daughter of Julio Huanca and Evelyn Rivera, into the world.

“Our physicians, nurses, and staff have displayed tremendous clinical skill and patient care as they have assisted in the delivery of a record number of babies,” said Margaret Pogorelec, Assistant Vice President of Women’s, Children’s and Emergency Services at Valley.

“We look forward to continuing to welcome Valley’s smallest patients in 2023 and years to come, particularly as we look to open our new hospital in Paramus,” said Maira de Leon, Director of Inpatient Women’s and Children’s Services at Valley.
