Ridgewood Man Charged In Tire Slashing Spree
Tires on eight cars, including one marked patrol unit, were slashed by a 20-year-old Ridgewood man last weekend, police said.
RIDGEWOOD, NJ - A 20-year-old Ridgewood man faces charges after police say he slashed the tires of eight vehicles, including a patrol car, last weekend.
Peter Breiter, who works as a produce clerk, was arrested Thursday in connection with the slashing incidents reported on South Pleasant Avenue, Jemco Place, South Van Dien Avenue and Spring Avenue, according to Police Chief Jacqueline Luthcke.

Further investigation reveal Breiter used a knife to deflate the tires while he walked past the cars on Saturday night, the chief said.
Breiter was charged with criminal mischief, interference of transportation, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He was issued complaints pending his first appearance in court on Friday, Jan. 31, according to police.
