Ridgewood Man Playing On 'Jeopardy!' All-Star Finals This Week

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — The name of the man from Bergen County appearing in the "Jeopardy!" All-Star Games final Monday and Tuesday.

If you answered, "Who is David Madden?" congratulations, you're correct.

Madden and his teammates Captain Brad Rutter and Larissa Kelly, will face off against members of two other teams in the two-day finals captained by Ken Jennings and Colby Burnett.

The games are "Jeopardy's!" first-ever team championship. Three-person went head to head against one another. Each of the nine participants playing in the final match will compete in one round of each game: Jeopardy!, Double Jeopardy!, or Final Jeopardy!.

Madden did not give any hints as to how he or his team performed in the two-day final round, but did say the experience was " a lot of fun."

Madden won $432,400 over a 19-game winning streak on "Jeopardy!' in 2005, the third longest winning streak in the show's history.

Madden took the money he earned from his 2005 appearances and founded International Academic Competitions, which has established several national and international academic competitions, including the National Science Bee, International Geography Bee, and the National History Bee and Bowl.

"Jeopardy!" airs at 7 p.m. on WABC channel 7.
