Ridgewood Police Arrest Bergen County Man for DUI, Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance

The 47-year-old man was also charged with speeding, failure to exhibit insurance and his registration.

A Bergen County man was arrested in Ridgewood after police say he was in possession of a controlled dangerous substance while driving under the influence.

Ridgewood Police stopped a vehicle for speeding on Linwood Avenue at midnight on Dec. 22 and determined Martin Fanizzi, 47, from Montvale, was allegedly “under the influence of alcohol and in possession of a controlled dangerous substance,” according to Ridgewood Police Chief John Ward.

Fanizzi was also charged with speeding, failure to exhibit insurance and his registration.

He was released pending a January court date.
