Bergen County Teen Burglarized 8 Businesses In His Own Town, Police Say

A Ridgewood teen has been charged with 8 burglaries in the business district, police said.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — A Ridgewood teen burglarized eight local businesses in the first half of October, police said Friday.

Christian Gomez, 19, has been charged in connection with burglaries of businesses in the Central Business District between Oct. 1 and Oct. 17, police said.

He was charged with eight counts of burglary, eight counts of theft, and two counts of criminal mischief, said Ridgewood Police Chief Forest Lyons.

The burglaries all took place overnight, he said.

Gomez was released to await a future court appearance, police said.

The chief thanked detectives Kyle Morton and Christopher Mormino for their "diligent work" under the direction of Det. Captain William Amoruso.
