Ridgewood Ups School Patrols in Response to Nearby Luring Attempts
There have been no reported incidents in Ridgewood, but there have been six in nearby towns over the past two weeks, reports say.
Ridgewood residents may notice an increased police presence outside village schools. According to a recent note to school parents from Police Chief John Ward, the increase is a response to recent child luring attempts reported in nearby towns.
Ridgewood “is monitoring these incidents and working with other agencies to share intelligence,” Ward wrote in a note that was sent home this week.
“There have been no reported incidents in Ridgewood, however, marked and unmarked patrols have been increased around the school and recreational areas throughout the village as a precaution.”
