A Ridgewood wrestler will join 19 other athletes across the U.S. who will compete at the U15 Pan American Championships in November.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — A Ridgewood wrestler will be one of 20 across the U.S. who will compete at the U15 Pan American Championships in Colombia from Nov. 4 through 6, USA Wrestling spokesperson Gary Abbott said.

Francesca Gusfa will represent the 36 kg (79 lbs) women's weight class at the championships, Abbott said in an article on the amateur wrestling organization's website.

Although Gusfa placed second behind Jaclyn Bouzakis at the U15 Pan American Team Trials held in August, she was offered and accepted the team berth, after the Floridian athlete moved up to represent at 39 kg. Bouzakis decided to move up to the new weight class, for there were no entries in the 36 kg women's freestyle at the trials, according to the article.
