A Camp Bernie counselor was arrested and charged on Wednesday with sexual assault by contact of three child campers.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — A Ridgewood YMCA summer camp counselor is accused of engaging in sexual contact with three campers, all of whom were under the age of 13, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée M. Robeson said.
Joshua F. Daranijo, 24, of Levittown, Pennsylvania, was arrested and charged on Wednesday with three counts of second-degree sexual assault by contact and three counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, the prosecutor's office said.
Daranijo, while employed at Camp Bernie facilities in Hunterdon County, was first accused of "acting inappropriately" with children at the camp. He was then put on leave pending an investigation into the allegations, Ridgewood YMCA President and CEO Ernest Lamour said.
