RIDGEWOOD, NJ — A Ridgewood YMCA summer counselor was indicted Thursday on charges related to sexual assault of three campers all of whom were younger than 13, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée Robeson said.

A grand jury returned a seven-count indictment, charging Joshua Daranijo, 24, with three counts of second-degree sexual assault, three counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and one count of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child (possession of child pornography).

Daranijo, of Levittown, Pennsylvania, was first accused of "acting inappropriately" with child campers, while employed at Camp Bernie facilities in Hunterdon County. He was then put on leave pending an investigation into the allegations, Ridgewood YMCA President and CEO Ernest Lamour said.
