Ridgewood YMCA to Internally Investigate Employee's Sex Assault Arrest
Glen Rock man arrested last week had been a temporary maintenance worker at the Y, report says.
Ridgewood YMCA officials say they are conducting an “internal review” after a temporary employee was arrested last week on sex assault charges, NorthJersey.com reported.
Abelardo Ramirez, 46, of Glen Rock, was arrested last week after a now 23-year-old woman reported that he sexually abused her when she was a teenager, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office announced last week.
According to NorthJersey.com, in addition to working as a janitor at the Hovnanian School in New Milford, Ramirez was also employed at the Ridgewood Y as a temporary maintenance worker.

It is unclear whether or not Ramirez still works for the Y, the report said.
The YMCA told NorthJersey.com that, “no complaints have been brought forward in regard to the employee during his employment with us.”

Officials at the community facility are now conducting an “internal review” in regard to the case, the report said.
