School Canceled in Ridgewood on Wednesday

Additional days could be called off pending damage assessments, Superintendent Daniel Fishbein said.

Widespread power outages and horrendous conditions have forced Ridgewood school officials to close schools for a third day.

"The danger is still not over," Superintendent Daniel Fishbein wrote in a message to parents. "The Ridgewood Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, October 30th and Wednesday, October 31st. Based on the damage assessments we may have to close additional days."

Fishbein asked residents to not put branches on the streets and especially to keep children indoors Tuesday night and Wednesday.
