Second Bergen County Sinkhole In 2 Days Will Close Street On Monday
Police gave an update on sinkhole repairs that closed a Bergen County street.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Police closed part of a roadway in Ridgewood Friday after a resident reported a sinkhole, officials said.
The area of North Monroe Street was closed off between Wellington Road and Shelbourne Terrace was closed for some of the day, but reopened by late afternoon, police said.
Captain Glenn Ender told Patch on Friday, "The DPW put a metal plate on top of it, so the road is reopened at this time."

However, he said, workers will close the road again on Monday to repair the hole.
Village Manager Keith Kazmark said, "We have plated the roadway for the weekend. We are in need of certain materials to complete the job. That work effort will be done on Monday."

This was the second day in two days that a sinkhole closed streets in Bergen County. A road in Ho-Ho-Kus had to be closed the day before, said a witness and reports.
