BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — While Bergen County was not expected to get slammed with several inches of snow like in South Jersey, hours of flurries will make the roads slippery, the National Weather Service said.

They issued a special weather statement around 1:29 p.m. Monday.

"Slippery Travel Into This Evening...Light snow will continue through 3 p.m.," they wrote.

"Most roads remain wet, but a few may briefly become snow covered. Temperatures remain below freezing across the area so any untreated surfaces may become icy and slick into the evening commute. Use extra caution while traveling this afternoon and evening."
