Sunday: Former RHS LAX Star Van Horne Powers Brown to Victory
The former Ridgewood star forced two turnovers in the Brown University home opener.

1) Brown University freshman Abbey Van Horne, who garnered quite a few lacrosse accolades during her time at RHS, forced two turnovers in the Bears 21-6 victory over Sacred Heart University in Connecticut on Saturday. Van Horne, a defender at Brown, was one of the leaders on the 2009-2010's RHS state championship team. A captain in 2010, Van Horne led Ridgewood with 42 ground balls during her senior season and collected 1st Team All-Bergen and Academic All-American honors.
2) Dr. Michael Nevins will discuss local physicians from the 18th century to the middle of the 20th century in a talk entitled, “Ridgewood’s Marvelous Medical Heritage” at 2 p.m. at the . Some of the physicians he will discuss will be William Vroom, Elijah Rosenkrantz, and Johanes VanEmburgh.
3) The confirmation class will take a trip to Seamen’s Church Institute in Port Newark from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

4) Following psychiatrist at 1:00 p.m. will be another talk about participating in a group, particularly when it comes to understanding one another and understanding one’s self. The talk begins at 2 p.m. at the .
5) will host sitting mediation from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with two breaks for mindful walking. Following the meditations and walks, there will be a Zen service and talk. Call (1-877)-442-7936 before your first visit. Even if you have no experience, they will show you how to meditate.
