Teen Tries Picking Up Impounded Car In Glen Rock, Shows Fake Card: PD

A teen showed up to get his car out of impoundment, said the Glen Rock police, and presented a fake document.

GLEN ROCK, NJ — A teen who came to pick up a car impounded by the Glen Rock police was charged after showing a fake insurance card, police said.

Jacere L. Gary, 19, of Paterson was charged with one count of exhibiting a fraudulent document to a law enforcement officer.

Police said that the car was impounded by a police officer because it was uninsured.

On Jan. 30, when Gary showed up to get the vehicle, he presented an insurance card that was determined to be a forgery, police said.

He was charged with the fourth-degree crime and released on his own recognizance to await an appearance before Central Judicial Processing at the Superior Court in Hackensack, police said.

During the period between Jan. 27 and Feb. 2, the Glen Rock police handled 343 calls for service, including that one, police said.
