These 5 Restaurants Opened In Bergen County Last Year

From cherry pepper pork chops to ricotta pancakes, Bergen County residents had new dining venues to try in the past year.

NORTH JERSEY — Have you tried the signature Million Dollar Bacon at First Watch in Paramus yet? Or wandered from the Rutherford train station to grab pork chops at Union Bar & Provisions?

Here are five restaurants that opened in Bergen County in 2025. (Know of a restaurant coming to the area? Let Patch know.)

Union Bar & Provisions

Union Bar & Provisions, which opened in August, was the first newly built, standalone restaurant in downtown East Rutherford in several years, a spokesperson said. The woody tavern, with its high ceilings, was created "to bring families, friends, and neighbors together over classic food and drinks. Menu items include honey garlic chicken thighs and a cherry pepper porkchop. Find them at 170 Union Ave., East Rutherford. More information is here.

A chain of restaurants that serves up made-to-order breakfast and lunch options opened a new location in Paramus in early October. First Watch, at 1 Bergen Town Center, brought a chef-inspired menu and seasonal offerings to a 4,700-square-foot space. It seats more than 170 people. Favorite dishes include avocado toast, Farmhouse Hash, lemon ricotta pancakes and the signature Million Dollar Bacon. Find out more here.

Wyckoff Tavern

The popular Café Amici in Wyckoff closed in June, but the owners said they had something special planned. In September, they reopened the space as Wyckoff Tavern. They source locally owned, sustainable items. The menu features poultry entrees, pork chops, veal, salmon, burgers, pizza, pasta, craft cocktails, and more. "Experience local tavern vibes with timeless charm and a modern pub twist," they said. They're located at 315 Franklin Ave. Find out more about Wyckoff Tavern here.

Wayback Burgers

Wayback Burgers and Molte Pizze opened in Emerson in August. The burger/pizza mashup is owned by local entrepreneur Rob Obernauer. According to a release, "As the first multi-brand restaurant in the Hubspoke portfolio, the Emerson location serves as a blueprint for future growth, bringing a new fast casual dining experience to the community." Wayback Burgers was founded in 1991 in Newark, Del. The restaurant is located at 175 Kinderkamack Road in Emerson. Find out more here.

Tacoria

It was too late for Cinco De Mayo, but Tacoria Mexican Street Kitchen opened its 11th location in Ridgewood in June. It's known for its street food made fresh daily, including vegetarian and vegan options. The address is 67 East Ridgewood Ave. Find out more here.
