This Week in Patch: Planning Board's Review of Disputed Subdivision and Celebrity Stars in Ridgewood
Here's a look at what's happening in Ridgewood and Patch this week.

This week Patch will be covering the ongoing dispute between neighbors and a developer over the corner of E. Ridgewood Ave. and Waverly Rd. as well as a look at two celebrities coming to town, school news and more.

Monday:

The varsity boys track individual championships for Bergen County will be at the New York Armory in Washington Heights at 4 p.m. The boys are among the better teams in North Jersey this season.
- Monday is also scheduled to be the last day before the ; we'll update the status on the new policy.
Tuesday:

The planning board will get together to continue its at 975 E. Ridgewood Ave, which has been opposed by some neighbors as being too large for the lot. Planner Blais Brancheau will also fill in the ongoings of the COAH ordinance draft.
- The district will be holding its second discussion/presentation online for parents regarding the K-5 math. A representative from Pearson, which makes the textbook and other resources will be doing the presentation, which begins at 7:30 p.m. through 9:00 p.m.
- The boys and girls varsity basketball teams will take on NV/Demarest at 7:00 p.m.
- Wrestler Chris Jericho will be at Bookends at 7:00 p.m. to sign copies of his book Undisputed. Jericho is a former WWE heavyweight champion.
- Celebrate Ridgewood’s parks with historians Peggy Norris and Joe Suplicki at the at 10:30 a.m. The couple will present a slide tour at no cost to the public.
Wednesday:
There will be a Super Science Saturday workshop on Wednesday afternoon from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Stay tuned to hear more about a very nifty solar engineering project some RHS students are doing in conjunction with Stevens Institute of Technology.
- Cheryl Burke, a twice Emmy-nominated choreographer from Dancing with the Stars will be at Bookends to sign her book at 7:00 p.m.
- The varsity hockey team will try to defeat Tenafly once and for all at 5:30 p.m. The hockey team tied Tenafly last time out, though it was a heavy favorite.
- We'll also be bringing you an article about a kid doing some great things on the stage as well as a few things you can check out over the weekend.
Thursday:
Highlights in Leisure Time will be going to The Playhouse for a performance of "The Great American Songbook". The bus leaves Graydon at 9:45 a.m. and the cost is around $50 depending if you're a member or not. The musical revue consists of music immigrants brought to America from their native lands.
- The boys and girls varsity basketball teams will play Bergen County Technical Institute, both at 7:00 p.m.
- Stick around to see a snapshot of real estate in Ridgewood on Thursday. We'll also be bringing you a review of a restaurant in the village. (We might spoil you with dessert by notching a second review of another place in the weekend.)
Friday:
We'll be bringing you a look at what your state, county and Congressional leaders have been up to, along with some news from nearby sites as well.
- The varsity wrestling team will be wrasslin' at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
- The varsity hockey team will be playing Pascack Valley at 9:00 p.m.
- There will be a reader's choice discussion of Plato's The Trial and Death of Socrates at the library at 1:00 p.m.
