Two GRHS Baseball Players Hospitalized After Collision, Report Says

Incident occurred when the center fielder and second baseman were fielding a ball Monday afternoon in the game against Hawthorne.

Two members of the Glen Rock High School baseball team are recovering from injuries sustained during a violent collision at a game on Monday, according to a Wednesday report in The Record.

The paper reports centerfielder Jeff Kopyta and second basemen Christian Vila are currently in good spirits. Kopyta reportedly suffered a serious concussion during the first inning collision, while Vila is out with a swollen eye. Coach Joe Sutera said he expects both to fully recover.

The game was suspended due to the incident.
