Unlicensed Driver in Ridgewood Crash Issued Summonses: Police

A crash in Ridgewood on Monday night led to a driver and passenger receiving summonses, police said.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — After two cars crashed in a residential area of Ridgewood on Monday, both the driver and passenger in a Honda were charged with having an unsealed container of alcohol or cannabis, police said.

Police responded to the crash on the 700 block of East Ridgewood Ave. Monday night, they confirmed. A Honda CRV had collided with a BMW X3.

Police Chief Forest Lyons said the driver of the Honda, a man from Clifton, was issued four summonses: failure to possess a driver’s license, open/unsealed container of alcohol or cannabis item, failure to maintain lane, and careless driving.

His passenger was issued an open/unsealed container summons, police said.

The driver of the BMW, from Norwood, was not issued summonses.
