Village Officials Discuss Automated Parking During Council Meeting

The system would work by having drivers drive their vehicles onto a loading bay and having a "robotic pulley system" take it to a space.

In an effort to relieve Ridgewood’s lack of downtown parking, officials discussed an automated parking structure during the Village Council meeting last week.

The automated parking garage system, which is being considered for the lot on Hudson Street, would work by having drivers drive their vehicles onto a loading bay and having a ”robotic pulley system” take it to a space, according to NorthJersey.com.

“It is something worth exploring, but we’re not ready to unequivocally recommend it,” Engineer Chris Rutishauser said. “We’re enamored with the idea but we’re not ready to say this is the best thing for the village.”
