UPDATE: Wayne Public Schools to Follow Early Dismissal Schedule Monday as Township is Under Blizzard Watch Until Tuesday
The alert says the state should expect "heaving snow and blowing snow with blizzard conditions" and 1 to 2 feet of snow accumulation.

Wayne Public Schools will follow an early dismissal schedule Monday after the Township has been placed under a Blizzard Watch in effect from Monday afternoon through Tuesday evening as the National Weather Service says a “potentially historic winter storm [is scheduled] to impact the area.”
The early dismissal, according to the Wayne Public Schools website, will “allow for sufficient time to safely transport ... students at dismissal.”

- A.M. Kindergarten 11:35
- P.M. Kindergarten CANCELLED
- A.M. Preschool 10:55
- P.M. Preschool CANCELLED
- Full Day Preschool 12:30
- High Schools 12:03
- Middle 12:40
- Elem. Extended Day CANCELLED
All school sports, activities and permits will also be cancelled.
According to the National Weather Service, the state should expect “heavy snow and blowing snow with blizzard conditions likely” and 1 to 2 feet of snow accumulations.

The “heaviest snow and strongest winds will occur overnight Monday into Tuesday,” causing “extremely dangerous travel.”
The alert also warns of “whiteout conditions,” impassable secondary and tertiary roads, and strong winds that can potentially bring down power lines and tree limbs.
