A 78-year-old woman experienced slight neck pain and "altered mental status" as a result of a Monday crash in Ridgewood, police said.
RIDGEWOOD, NJ — A 78-year-old woman was hospitalized Monday after her sedan was hit on the driver's side by an oncoming vehicle that had apparently ran a red light, Ridgewood police Chief Jacqueline Luthcke said.
The driver of the Ford van that hit her reported he was unable to see the sedan due to sun glare, and that he thought the light was green, Luthcke said.
As a result of the crash at the intersection of Van Emburgh and East Glen Avenues, the woman, who is from Harrington Park, experienced slight neck pain and "altered mental status." She had to be extricated from the vehicle before being taken to the hospital, police said.
