Woman Crashed SUV In Bergen Co. Murder-Suicide Attempt: Reports
Judith McLead, 71, drove the vehicle off a Fairview road to try and kill herself and her passenger, police said in a report.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A woman was accused of trying to kill herself and a passenger after purposely driving an SUV off the road and into an embankment, according to reports.
Judith McLead, 71, was charged with second-degree aggravated assault, Bergen County Jail records show.
McLead drove the SUV off of Bergen Boulevard Saturday night to try to kill herself and her passenger, Fairview Police Chief Martin Kahn told NorthJersey.com.

McLead was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center for treatment and was then arrested, Kahn said in the report.
The passenger was not hurt, NJ.com reported.

Kahn could not be reached for comment Monday morning.
McLead and the passenger were arguing at about 5 p.m. before she drove into a steep embankment about 250 feet above Fairview Avenue and hit a tree, NJ.com reported.
Published reports did not identify the passenger or what her relationship is to McLead.
