Former Teacher Passes From Final Lesson

Born in New York City, she graduated from Bergenfield High School and received her Bachelor’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University and Master’s degree from New York University. She taught elementary school in the River Edge school district for 36 years. 

She was a NJEA Political Action Committee Liaison for NJ State Senators Matthew Feldman, Byron Baer, and Gerald Cardinale. 

She was a member of Blue Wave NJ and Temple Beth Sholom in Livingston. 

She was predeceased by her first husband, Gerald Hurwitz in 1981.
