Steam Fitter and Navy Vet

Herbert L. Lawton, 85, of Twp. of Washington, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2011.

He was born in River Edge, to George and Louise Lawton. Before retiring, he was a Steam Fitter for Jersey City Local #274. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy for both World War II and the Korean War and was a member of Twp. of Washington VFW Post.

Beloved husband of the late Clara Lawton. Devoted father of Colleen Murphy, Thomas, Richard and his wife Karen, and Kevin and his wife Lisa. He is also survived by nine loving grandchildren.
