The recap look of the Hawks and Crusaders state tennis and golf runs

Despite a valiant effort by the Golden Hawks Tennis team, River Dell could not withstand the onslaught by top seeded Pascack Hills in the North 1 Group 2 state tournament in a shut out 5-0 loss. Dzan Harba (first singles) fell 6-0,6-0 to Michal Solimano followed by James Park (second singles) going out again Dan Rosen, 6-0, 6-1. Third singles Andrew Bortnick came close in his 6-1, 6-4 loss to Dylan Feinstein. The Hawks doubles teams which have held out the longest against their opponents previously were no match for the Cowboys. Patrick Thane and Jared Sapin fell 7-5, 6-2 while Mike Albanese and George Kim went three rounds 6-2, 4-6, 10-7 before coming up short.

In the North Non-Public A state golf tournment Bergen Catholic placed second by two points to archrival Don Bosco. The Crusaders finished with an overall team score of 309 with freshman Erick Alonso tying for third place with a 75.
