Athletics Update for RD and BC
A quick look at how the Golden Hawks and Crusaders varsity squads performed on the track, tennis courts, diamond, green or turf field.
River Dell Boys & Girls Track swept a HOME quad meet vs. Bergenfield, Pascack Valley and Tenafly yesterday. The boys won by scores of 103-37 over Bergenfield, 82-58 over Pascack Valley and 98-42 over Tenafly. The girls beat Bergenfield 100-40, Pascack Valley 87-53 and Tenafly fell 78-62. The boys and girls both completed the dual meet seasons with records of 5-1.
The top performers for the boys were Craig Marulis, Kevin Connelly, Christian Flego, James Canino, Lukas Kaefer, Sam Becourtney, Matt Koh and the 1600M relay team. The top performers for the girls were Melissa Gibbons, Sam Schleiger, Paige Fernandez, Jamie Woods, Cat McQuade, Bethann Kiely, Caitlyn Gallagher, Bridget Brindley, Laura Gibbons, Jill Hudson, Laura Oh, and the 1600M relay team.

Bergen Catholic Track dominated the Spartan competition from DePaul Catholic at home, 110-26. Tarique Gray bested his 100m time finishing in 10.8 seconds and his 400m with 50.5. While Ricky Sinning improved his 100m time with 11.3 and his 200m at 23.2 seconds. Mario Kranjac came in at 52-flat in the 400m. Tyler Dilworth took to the 110m high hurdles in a stunning 15.5 finish.
River Dell Girls Lacrosse defeated Fair Lawn 12-11 on the road in overtime. Emily Wong scored 4 goals, Sam Kay 3 and Tori Schettino 2 to lead the Hawks on offense. Rebecca Myers made 9 saves in the goal. The team improved to 7-4 on the season with the victory.

River Dell Softball beat Bergenfield 4-0 yesterday at HOME to improve to 11-3 on the season, including 6 consecutive wins and 4 straight shutouts. Jordan Bastable and Lauren Turner each hit triples and Emily Fishbein and Ashley Sansevere also provided RBI hits to lead the Hawks. Chloe DeSanctis earned the win on the mound.
Bergen Catholic Baseball shut out Hackensack in a five-inning matchup, 14-0. Toby Schwartz threw a no-hitter while Eric Flanagan blasted a home run. Also knocking in runs were Charles Chen, Ryan Kelly, James Orlando, Robert Quigley, Joe Scancarella, Mike Sutherland and Dan Tattoli.
Bergen Catholic Golf is still undefeated following its 155 finish at the Hackensack Golf Club over Teaneck. Mike Rivera came in at par with 36 while Matt Love (38) and Oliver Shih (39) were just over par.
Bergen Catholic Tennis survived over arch rival Don Bosco, 3-2. Sean Fernandes and Bradni Black took their singles matches in two while doubles team Matt Liguori and Alex Hart went to three for their win.
