River Edge Man Bikes a Million-Plus Miles for Charities

There’s truly no place too far for Freddie Hoffman to go.

The River Edge man has spent most of his life traveling the country. Not by car or in a tour van, but on his bicycle.

To date he has traveled 1.4 million miles and has reached all 48 states.  He does it to raise money for a variety of charities and has raised $1 million to date. Distance wise it's as though he's been to the moon and back, twice.

Attorneys Scrutinize Public's Evidence at United Water Hearings

After sitting through 16 months of hearings, New Milford residents finally got their chance Thursday to challenge the testimonies of Hekemian's experts regarding flooding, traffic volume and pedestrian safety associated with the proposed development of the United Water property. However, their testimony was halted at almost every turn as attorneys for both sides scrutinized their photographic and testimonial evidence for relevancy and admissibility.

Ruffing It Up at Van Saun's New Dog Park

On Friday, John Fugazzie of River Edge saw his dream of having a County dog park at Van Saun Park become a reality as the dog park unofficially opened.
Fugazzie put a great deal of effort into organizing support to bring a dog park to Van Saun so that residents from River Edge, Oradell, New Milford and Paramus can easily access it.

River Dell: Reflecting on the Year in Sports While Focusing on Future

As Denis Nelson finishes his eleventh year as Athletic Director for River Dell, he reflects not only on a series of stellar seasons, but on what makes River Dell a top contender among Bergen County parochial schools, such as Bergen Catholic and St. Joes, that are known for their sports programs by almost every Little League and Flag Football parent.

This year the teams accomplished many victories. As a whole, the River Dell sports program was awarded the Big North Patriot Division All Sports Champion title, an honor that River Dell has won for the first time.

According to Nelson, every team at River Dell teaches the student athlete the techniques of the game they are playing balanced by coaches focused on teaching life lessons derived from being on a team.

Got Game? Get it at Bergen Catholic Summer Sports Camps

There is still time to sign them up for sports camps offered by Bergen Catholic High School. Have a little Catfish Hunter? A Michael Jordan? Perhaps an Eli Manning or...honestly, I'm lost on lacrosse greats--although I've seen some really outstanding high school and college games.

Bergen Catholic is offering week-long camps in baseball, basketball, football and lacrosse beginning in July.
