River Edge Woman Awarded For Helping Disabled Individuals

Linda Lucas received the Martin Papish Award from The Arc of New Jersey for her work helping people with intellectual disabilities.

RIVER EDGE, NJ — A River Edge woman received an award for helping people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Linda Lucas, chief executive officer of The Arc of Essex County, received the Martin Papish Award at The Arc of New Jersey's 70th anniversary gala.

The award is The Arc's highest professional honor in New Jersey. It recognizes the efforts of people dedicated to helping people.

Lucas has worked for The Arc of Essex County for 40 years. The Livingston-based nonprofit helps with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Despite all of her accomplishments and successes, it is Linda's caring and compassion for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families that makes her a true champion, The Arc of New Jersey said about Lucas.
