It's Thursday R-FHers, and action is at a minimum around these parts of suburbia.

First of all, the weather troll, uh, I mean National Weather Service says it's going to be a mild day today, with temps reaching a high near 77 degrees and scattered showers a possibility for the afternoon. Here we go ...

Activities …

The Monmouth County Fair is in it's second night tonight, if you're in the mood to head over to Freehold and get a little fair practice in before it's Fair Haven Firemen's Fair time again.

Swimmers are "going gold" today to cure cancer at Edgewater Beach Club. See the calendar at the bottom of the site at rumson.patch.com for more details.

Fair Havenites are gearing up for that campout in Fair Haven Fields on Friday night. More to come on that one.

If it does rain and you feel like doing some online shopping, check out our boards. There are some interesting things for sale there, like a couple of nice cars and a boat.

Meetings …

There's a meeting today, hosted by Congressman Frank Pallone, all about the beach replenishment ongoing in Monmouth Beach and soon coming to Sea Bright. That's at 1:30 p.m. in Monmouth Beach today. And we'll have that scoop.

Foodie fun …

Recommendation of the day: Have you tried the cornmeal scone with cherries and nuts at Tavolo Pronto? Well, it just may be the thing to have with coffee today.

And, if it's more lunch or dinner take-out you're after, you really may want to try their meatballs ... just like Mama's. Really! Just a thought.
