It's Monday morning, R-FHers; and that means we have more things to explore and Patchy people to see. OK, so that was a corny start.
Can't help it. As I'm sure you are, too, I'm a bit giddy over the drop in that deathly stagnant air and heat of last week.
We (the entourage is invisible) managed to get around last week, wheezing all the way, but are still perplexed as to why no one was catching crabs off the Fair Haven Dock.
We may have to try it ourselves this week and see what works best. Maybe we'll ask a question about magic bait around town. Hmmmm.
Well, getting crabby wasn't all that went on. If you missed anything, check here. But, yeah, Fair Haven is moving toward a compromise on a smoking ban in municipally-owned parks, passive and active.
And there's a bid issue the borough is grappling with, so we'll feature something on the post-Sandy dilemma associated with that.
We've caught some interesting shots with our mobile app, so look forward to a photo a day. Any ideas? Pass them on.
But you do never know what you'll run smack into with that camera sometimes. We did catch a lovely couple heading out to get their pics taken on the dock Saturday night. Congrats, Christine and Matt! Do you know them?
We'll also be catching up with one of the businesses in the area or a collective update. And, we may be reviving our What's Cookin'? column, featuring a special dish made by an area eatery.
Watch out … we're on the road and running around! OK, don't get carried away. We're not quite up to a running pace in this weather yet. Call it a news crawl.
Rumson Borough Council will be meeting on Tuesday night. We'll keep you posted on that agenda.
And, also in Rumson, we'll be catching up with Police Chief Scott Paterson. He tells us he hasn't gotten caught doing something lately. Know what that might be? We do.
In addition to all that fun stuff, the Fair Haven Board of Education will be meeting this week and welcoming the new principal of Knollwood. We'll try to pop in on that one. You remember what happened last time we popped in on a welcome … a pretty funny video came out of it all. Ready for your close-ups BOE people? No cheating. No glam makeovers for the meeting! No feather boas! On second thought …
Then, there's Sea Bright. We'll have a little update or two on the summer haven for all R-FHers. Any special requests? We have some interesting, fun things in mind.
Until then, see you around the towns … or in an air conditioned meeting!
