Down By the River at Sunset

By Elaine Van Develde

Anyone who lives in the Rumson-Fair Haven would more than likely agree that there's something very soothing about a little trek by the Navesink River.

It's that hot cocoa for the soul kind of thing — a personal homecoming.

Wednesday night was no exception. As the sun set, serenity set in at the Fair Haven Dock. Kids hunted for shells, wading in the water, people paddle boarded onto shore and fishermen reeled in their lines.

The scene was a comforting, wonderful world one.

Take a look at the photos above for a glimpse into the evening, typical of many on a summer night in Fair Haven.
