Fair Haven police will soon be tweeting.
The police department, Administrator Theresa Casagrande said at Monday's meeting, will be joining the social media world with a Twitter account. Not Facebook, though. Only Twitter for now.
While the Fair Haven PBA has a Facebook page, the department itself is opting not to for the time being, because "with Twitter comments can be deleted relatively quickly," Casagrande said. "It's a good way to get information out and keep people updated without so much of a worry about comments."
Facebook, Casagrande noted, would require more monitoring and may inadvertently invite unwanted and/or libelous comments that tend to come with police activity.
The account doesn't appear to have been set up just yet. Stay tuned.
Oh, and the department got a new car — a white Dodge charger.
