Longtime Rumson resident Dorothy B. Jacobs passed away surrounded by family at Riverview Medical Center on Thursday, July 18, at 89.
Born in Dry Creek, Louisiana, she settled in Rumson with her husband of of 67, years, Philip, and their children.
She was predeceased by: her daughter, Wendy Jacobs Yorg; her brothers, Mac and Walker Burris; and, her sisters, Martella Zellers and Jaunita Lafleur.
She is survived by: her husband Philip; her son, Stuart W. Jacobs, and wife, Sandy, of Fair Haven; her son-in-law, Robert Yorg, of Wanamassa; three grandchildren, Ryan and Holly Jacobs, and Sara Yorg; two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Ashley; her brother, Clayton Burris, of TX; and, her sister, Stella Brown of Lake Charles, LA.
The family will receive friends and family from 12:30 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013 until the 1:30 p.m. service at the Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St., Red Bank. Donations can be made to First Church of Christ Science, where Dorothy Jacobs was a parishioner for many years, 211 Broad St., Red Bank, NJ 07701.
