Nature Fields Cleanup This Weekend In Fair Haven

Volunteers are welcome to help with cleanup work at Fair Haven Fields Natural Area this Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 29 and Oct 30.

FAIR HAVEN, NJ — Join the Fair Haven Fields Natural Area Committee for a weekend of caring for the borough's natural resources.

The organization is meeting to clean up, protect and improve the Fair Haven Fields Natural Area, it said in a community post. The work will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 29 and 30.

The work counts for student volunteer hours - and it also counts for a good cause.

On Saturday, the group is meeting at Golden Gate, just west of Ridge Road parking lot; on Sunday, at the Community Garden entrance.

The volunteers will remove invasive vines and trash and clear out fallen branches, which are reused to repair walkways in wetland areas.

While signup is encouraged, it is not required. All are welcome.

Work gloves, tools, and water will be provided, but bring your own water container. If you have tools you can also bring those, the group says.
