They no sooner stood up to say the Pledge of Allegiance than Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School's Class of 2013, family and friends, with a clap of thunder and a wind gust, knew this year's graduation would be taken inside — and quick.
School officials and police bustled and hustled and got a stadium and football field's worth of people inside. And then the rain came — rather, a monsoon.
The graduating seniors lined the hallway in between the auditorium and gym. And the onlookers were funneled into both, with only ticket-holders allowed inside the auditorium.
The overflow crowd was relegated to the gym. There a screen with a live feed from the auditorium was set up for them to watch. Patch wasn't even allowed in the auditorium to take some photos.
So, instead, moments with the graduates-to-be were captured in the line-up hall while they waited.
Take a look at the photo gallery above for a glimpse into the RFH graduation that made it through the rain. OK, that was corny.
Congrats grads!
