It's what's going on in the Rumson-Fair Haven area on Tuesday.

By Elaine Van Develde

Good morning, Rumson-Fair Haven area friends and fans! Good news.

The weather troll says it's going to be sunny today with a high near 79 degrees.

And, after you hit the beach, it's supposed to be clear tonight, too, which makes for great weather conditions to go to the dogs next door in Red Bank. That brings us to …

Activities/Events …

Tonight is the first in a (last Tuesday of each month) series of Dog Days of Summer in the borough. A section of Monmouth Street will be cordoned off, only allowing pooches and their human parents … or whatever you dog owners want to call yourselves.

Should make for, yes, a howling good time. Had to say it, ya know. The weather being nice, it won't be "ruff" on the dogs, either. OK, I'm done.

There's also a blood drive this evening sponsored by none other than the Red Bak Roller Vixens. "Out for blood!" they are, their flyer says. That will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Little Silver Firehouse, 543 Prospect Avenue.

Somehow we missed that Madagascar 3 was being shown at Fair Haven Fields last night, courtesy of Shore Flicks. But there's another movie very close by in Red Bank tonight, and it's a classic — Monty Python & the Holy Grail at Riverside Gardens Park. It's like a drive-in without the car. And you get a view of the river while you watch. All they ask is that you bring some non-perishable food donations to benefit those in need.  Good deal.

Foodie Fun …

Speaking of a good deal, it's burger night at Fromagerie. Click here for more details. And its Baja Tuesdays at Woody's in Sea Bright. For $15 you get a choice of either sliders or tacos and either an orange crush or glass of wine to go with your dinner.

And, next door at Boondock's Fishery, of course, the lobster night is back on again: two lobsters with corn and potatoes for $24.95.

It's Two-Bite Tuesdays at Sugarush. Check the Facebook page for an update on what it is.

It's Lucky 7s at Teak, too. That means you get $7 top shelf drinks and $7 appetizers from 4 to 7 p.m.

And, there's a three-course menu for $25 at Dish on Tuesdays and, in fact, Wednesdays.

Check the Red Bank Flavour site for more.

Recommendation of the day: the U-10 Scallops at Woody's. Delish. Pan seared scallops served over tomato and cheese with a pesto drizzle.

Coming up …

We will be featuring some tidbits about Sea Bright businesses' progress, pics of Dog Days of Summer where I'm sure we'll find some R-FH area people and their pups. Oh, and we'll be having a lot of fun with throwback photos and moments of the RFH Class of '78 and something we found in the Red Bank Register archives about salaries in the 1960s.

There are a few more surprises up our sleeves (me and those imaginary assistants again).

Hear of anything you think we should know about or look into? Send an email to elaine.develde@patch.com.

And, come on, give us a caption for the featured photo! It's a throwback to the first night after Sandy that Woody's opened in Sea Bright.

In the meantime, see you around the towns …
