SCOTCH PLAINS-FANWOOD, NJ — Nine student vocalists from Scotch Plains-Fanwood Schools were accepted into the Region II Honors Choirs, according to an announcement from the district.

The students were selected based on their scores from over 375 students who auditioned. Four of the nine placed in the top 10 in their voice part, with junior Ashley Hoberman receiving the number one score of the Soprano 1 section for the second year in a row.

“We are so lucky and proud to have these students in our Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School choirs, as well as representing our school district, at the Region II level,” said SPFHS Choral Director Jan Allen. “This is a testament to the hard work of these students, as well as the music teachers these students had before they arrived at SPFHS, my leave replacement Barbara Retzko, and the private voice teachers of these students, for their excellent work preparing everyone for the audition.”
