Fatal Crash, Overturned Dump Truck Closes Lanes On I-78

The crash, located on the border of Somerset County and Union County, is causing delays on both sides of the highway Monday.

BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ — A fatal crash involving an overturned dump truck lanes cl9sed lanes on Interstate 78 east on the Somerset County and Union County border on Monday afternoon.

The crash and overturned dump truck are being reported on the highway just east of Exit 41 for Dale Road in Berkeley Heights, according to the state's travel information service, 511nj.org.

All lanes on the eastbound side were closed. As of 6:50 p.m., two of the three lanes remain closed causing delays.

There is also another crash being reported on I-78 west in the same area causing one of the three lanes to close. This is also causing a 40- to 45-minute delay.
