​Carriage House Poetry Reading in Fanwood, March 21

From Carriage House Poetry Series: The Carriage House Poetry Series invites the public to attend a free evening of poetry readings on Tuesday, March 21st beginning at 8:00 p.m. in the Patricia Kuran Arts Center on Watson Road, off North Martine Avenue, adjacent to Fanwood Borough Hall (GPS use 75 N. Martine Avenue).

The evening’s readings will feature New Jersey poets Donna Baier Stein and David Crews.

Donna Baier Stein is a poet, novelist, short story writer and the founder of Tiferet Journal. In addition to her recent book of poems, “Sometimes You Sense the Difference,” she has published the award-winning novel, “The Silver Baron’s Wife,” and a collection of short stories entitled “Sympathetic People.” Before founding Tiferet Journal, Donna was the poetry editor of Bellevue Literary Review and a freelance writer for environmental groups like the Nature Conservancy and the World Wildlife Fund.

David Crews is the author of the poetry collections “Circadian Rhythm” (2014) and “High Peaks” (2015), which chronicles his hikes in New York’s Adirondack Mountains. His poems have appeared in The Greensboro Review, The Carolina Quarterly, Berkeley Poetry Review, the Southeast Review and other publications. David earned an MFA in Poetry from Drew University and serves as editor of The Stillwater Review. He teaches and lives in northwest New Jersey.

The Carriage House Poetry Series was launched in 1998 and is now in its nineteenth year at the Kuran Arts Center, an historic Gothic Revival structure that was once a 19th century carriage house, hence the name of the series. The March 21 reading is free and open to the public. An open mic will follow the featured performances.
