UPDATE: Firefighters Battle Gas Station Fire in Union County
A local Scotch Plains gas station has been engulfed in flames.

A local Scotch Plains gas station was engulfed in flames Tuesday afternoon, April 28.
Firefighters battled a two-alarm blaze at the Lukoil gas station on North Avenue in Scotch Plains, according to a report from News 12 New Jersey.
The fire started shortly at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the report said. The fire is believed to have originated in a truck, before spreading to other cars and the gas station itself.

The fire was contained to a garage structure behind the main gas station and was brought under control by firefighters by 5 p.m., according to CBS New York. A nearby apartment building was evacuated and roads near the station were blocked off as a precaution, but no injuries were reported.
The Scotch Plains Fire Department is investigating the origin of the fire.
