Flood Advisory Issued For Union County: NWS
Heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and possible flooding are predicted in Union County on Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

UNION COUNTY, NJ — The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Union County until 5:45 p.m. on Monday.
Flooding caused by heavy rainfall is expected in Union County, according to the NWS. Showers and possible thunderstorms are expected Monday afternoon and evening, with new rainfall amounts of one to two inches expected in the area.
According to the NWS, as of 3:40 p.m., between one and 1.5 inches have already fallen. Winds around 6 mph are also predicted.

The NWS advises that drivers turn around when encountering flooded roads, as most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
People are advised to report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service.

Specific towns that are expected to experience flooding include Newark, Paterson, Elizabeth, Passaic, Wayne, Plainfield, Bloomfield, Linden, Orange, Paramus, Ridgewood, Summit, Lyndhurst, Millburn, Rutherford, Harrison, Pompton Lakes, Caldwell, Kearny and Hawthorne, according to the NWS.
